i was looking into getting my 94 300zx's computer reproggrammed to get a lottle more power out of it. it is not the turbo model and i hear that have the computr reprogrammed can give alot of power. However i have heard that doing that can kill your motor way sooner than if you had left it stock. And how does a computer uprade work? i heard it just floods your motor with gas and cause more power, but less gas mileage. PLease some on tell me pro's and con's and price.

Jim Wolfe Technology's and Z-1 motorsports in Georga have power chips and reprogramed engine control modules. Either way the power improvement is modest about 10 to 20 actual rear wheel. Other things better air filter and ditch that stock exhaust Greedy Stillen and other exhaust will preform with the chip for even more HP. Engine wear really is not much an issue with 300ZX engines just keep timing belts on it and change the oil often. There are many things programed into the ECM and chip to numerious to type. Trust me just getting rid of the top speed limiter and rpm limiter is worth the price
