Only feed puppy food until she is 6 months, then switch to adult food. Also, you can feed canned food and treats. It is normal for them to sleep alot, they are just like babies.

yeah young puppies will sleep a ton. As for other things you can feed her there are actually a whole bunch of different human foods that you can feed your dog. A raw diet is actually much better for your dog than the crap they put in dog food. Some meats that you can feed your dog are; turkey, chicken, venison, lamb and herring (no seasoning). Eggs are also great for dogs, they will help with your dogs skin and coat, raw eggs are the best! Also carrots, potatoes, rice and oatmeal. Dogs have strong enough stomach enzymes so that they can eat raw food. What do you think wolves ate? :)

you can give her some baby rice cereal flakes mixed with water and also some sugar water or water and Karo syrup. Sometimes they get dehydrated. My lil baby got really sick because He would sleep more than ususal so he eventually ran out of energy. He wouldn't even go to her water bowl. Just make sure you keep an eye on her. You can also give her liquid baby vitamins, only give her about 1/4 th of the dosage though or she'll get diarrhea. Also make sure she stay very warm, they tend to shake and burn alot of calories. You can get a calorie suplement too. It comes in a tube like toothpaste. You just squeez it out a lil and they usually lick it right off. Its a really good thing to have on hand, especially with chihuahuas.

oh, yeah, puppies sleep ALOT. It seemed mine was sleeping half the day. He is 9 months old now, and still sleeps several times aday. That is normal for a dog to take several naps.
Don't feed her grapes, onions, garlic.. toxic to dogs I hear.
My dog LOVES baked beans, apples and pears. Most dogs like peanut butter, not mine though.
good luck with the pup!

Of course it is heartbreaking and devastating to give up your two puppies. However, I believe you did the right thing. You and your fiancee both knew that you could not give the puppies the right amount of attention and made the heartbreaking decision to give them up. Having a baby especially your first can be really stressful plus babies need a lot of attention. I am so happy that you took the time to find them a great home. Enjoy your baby for a couple of years and then when the time is right you can get another dog.

Puppies do sleep a lot, feed her a high quality puppyfood. Someone said to give her milk, it will give her loose stools.

We have a 3yr. chihuahua mix. Loves to sleep in between meals. She will become active when we want to play with her though. Otherwise she'll just sleep.
