she also offers me her bath water when she is through. How arrogent is that? Especially since I know she blows her nose into it. I think she pees in the shower too.

Thats just disgusting. Tell her to install a dual flush system, not sure where you are from but in Australia we have a small flush for a wee and a full flush for a poo.

My mum puts a bucket under the shower when she is waiting for the water to get hot, she sometimes gets close to 5 litres of water that way and then uses it on her garden. But the water that she uses to wash herself goes down the drain as it was intended to.

I live on the Central Coast of NSW Australia and we are on PERMANENT water restrictions that means no watering of any kind outside like gardens and car washing etc. Here's a little ditty to help you get over the no flush problem you havel
If its brown flush it down
If its yellow let it mellow.
As for the bath water just politely decline her offer.

What does she expect you to do with the used bath water? We also only flush after every other pee. Of course that saves money. But, really, why do you care? You obviously don't live with her (otherwise she'd be your roommate, not your landlady), so just let it go.

obviously she lives w/ landlady, or she wouldn't know about issue. i've left the toilet unflushed when i lived alone. but not when i had housemates. that is just rude. yellow or brown, it should go down. there are other ways to save on water. full washer loads, fix broken toilet fixtures, don't let water run while brushing teeth & face.

offering used bathwater, that's arrogent.

thats really disgusting is that for real??.....her house must smell what does she do when the toilet is full of piss and pooh?? does she scoop it out and put it in her garden for compost?? and if she re-uses the same bath water she must smell also i can't think of anything worse than bathing in the same water u would clean off the dirt and germs from ur body to get in the next day and bathe in those same germs....thats how diseases are started...

You can actually save money by not flushing after every pee, but I'd advise flushing after the 2nd or 3rd depending on how much you let out.

I heard this on TV the other night, "If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down". As for me, I'm flushing every time. It is unhygienic and nasty.
