I have very strong pain with my menstrual cramps and I take 600 mg of Ibuprofen (3 tablets) and another painkiller - under a doctor's orders. If your doctor has not told you it is ok to take 3 ibuprofens at a time, you really should not. In fact, you should see your doctor as soon as possible about your headaches, because there are much better treatments for headaches that occur every day.
And yes, taking too much ibuprofen can cause dizziness or drowsiness. They can also cause stomach bleeding (liver damage not so much, that sounds more like acetominophen) so you really shouldn't take ibuprofen every day.

I doubt the two are related. You did overdose, don't do it again, and it probably wouldn't hurt to call poison control. They might be able to better tell you if you are in immediate danger of any kind. I've taken that many before, on a daily basis (not something I'm condoning, keep reading), and it didn't have immediate effects.
However, I didn't realize at the time that I had a stomach ulcer. Asprin, naproxim sodium (Aleve), and ibuprofen can aggrevate an existing stomach ulcer and cause internal bleeding. One morning, I woke up and passed out as soon as my feet hit the floor. I actually ended up needing two blood transfusions. Now, I can't take any over-the-counter meds except Tylenol, which is like taking an M&M to get rid of a headache.
Over-the-counter medicines, like prescriptions, can have lasting effects if they are misused. The main one, for ibuprofen and Tylenol, is liver damage.
The occcasional headache is normal, but headaches that last all day, every day, is not. You need to see your doctor, so talk to your mom about getting you in to find out what's going on. It could be something as simple as an allergy that you aren't aware of, and therefore aren't avoiding. Some people are allergic to certain perfumes, and get headaches when they are exposed to them.
But tell your mom what's going on, and STOP taking so many ibuprofen. If you feel you must take OTC meds, take the reccommended dosage for ibuprofen, then the next time, take the reccommended dosage for Tylenol.
But wouldn't it be nice to just find out what's causing the headaches so you don't have to take anything?

In a 24 hour period, take no more than 12 Advil (Ibruprofen). You can take 4 200mg tablets every 8 hours. That is according to the pharmacy. It is the same as prescription strength Ibruprofen. Do not drink alcohol at the same time. Also, it should have nothing to do with the weird feeling and dizziness. Good luck. Lori

Ibuprofen will damage your liver. Damaged livers are no fun to live with. Although a liver can regenerate new tissue and repair some damage, it cannot keep up with that level of damage. Please ask a doctor to help you find a way of dealing with the headaches (maybe it's too much caffeine? Caffeine is one of the leading causes of headaches!) Good luck...

You should see a doctor about your addiction to them. The pills can cause your kidneys to malfunction and cause your blood flow to become very slow. That is something that could make you feel dizzy. If you have headaches that frequently, you should ask your doctor about it. Maybe have some tests done to find out what's wrong.

ah- i did this the other day. i took 3, because i had bad cramps. i felt drunk and awful. it will pass, but you need to see a doctor. it is not normal to have that many headaches a day. you could keep a log of what you eat and do, and see if anything is correlated with the headaches. there might be a preventitive medicine you can take. there are tons of possibilities, but def. don't be in pain- go to the doc!

OH MY GOSH!!! STOP!! My mother is a nurse and she has told me all my life never to take too much ibuprofen. It can cause polycistic liver failure. Your liver can be absolutely shot. Plus, 3 of them? Oh my gosh you're crazy. Stop now or you'll end up dead.

9!! that's not good, I recommend (making yourself) throw up I know it sounds like bulemia but it's not. if you didn't have any bowel movements lately today, all that is in your system and it's best to get it out, because if you go to the hospital they will put a tube down your throught to get it out and use charcol. that I recommend more fast effective and actually more safe that taking the risk of sitting it out and drinking alots of fluids, so if I was you I would go make myself vomit NOW!! FOR MY OWN GOOD

Stop NOW. That much drug is really bad for you, and can in fact make your headache worse. You need to go see a doctor and get some treatment which is appropriate for your age.
