I know that, according to Christian doctrine, ONLY the blood of Christ could forgive us of our sins, there was no other way, God had to have his son killed to forgive us, God is all powerful BUT only blood could wash sins.
So...my problem is, how do I get over my fears of blood?
The thought of blood makes me sick, any suggestions?

First, you sew your eyes shut. Then you take a flying leap off a cliff. And then halfway down you realize that you are not as smart as you think you are.

Firstly; you can not arbitrary become a Christian, apart from being "drawn" or "called" by God, the Father, (John 6, verse 44) . This does not mean God has "written you off" but has yet - to "call" you. All are "called" ultimately, each in his or her own turn & time. Obviously, you are not employed with the local blood bank.

lol, here what you should do, I suggest you capture a bunch of mosquitoes and suck the blood from their bodies. Then you put all the blood into the bathtub and soak in it. Submerge yourself in the blood. You will get used to it quickly. Always works, guaranteed.

It's much more complex than that but a simple way I'll try to explain it is Jesus dying on the cross is the same way someone runs into a burning building to rescue someone or dodges a bullet for someone.

Do you really believe that!! if you do. I really feel for you more and more. You don't know anything. Do you dear!!

I don' expect you to get my message. It won't be the first nor the last. But, try dear. It is no that complex.

I thought Atheists are suppose to be logical! oh well. There is always one who will break the mold. Try to ask questions so you can undertand dear. So it won't reflect badly on you.

The blood which is spoken is of the blood of Jesus; it is the shedding of the blood that He undergone when He was killed.
That has already happened. Now, you have to find a healthy church and ask them to show you what you can do so that you may be a strong and faithful Christian. (There are no blood rituals involved...) There is only confession of faith (that you do believe in Jesus and understand why he was killed), baptism of water (not by blood), and growing in love for one another.

To understand this, you have to understand WHO Jesus is and WHY HE died for us. Could you say that you are completely innocent-without sin ( a clean conscience)? No one can say this, and it is for this reason that God sent his only Son, Jesus, to come into the world and to be that "bridge" between God who is Holy and us who are with sin. Because Jesus is the Son of God, He is Holy, and so He is the only One who could reconcile us to God. However the world rejected Jesus, and He was killed. BUT whoever believes in Jesus as being the son of God and that HE did die for us, will have eternal life. By dying on the cross, He built that "bridge" that exists between us (sinners) and a HOLY God. And so by believing in Jesus, we can come to the Father (God) and be as if sinless (cleansed of our all our wrongs). You know how you may have heard people say "covered by the blood of Jesus"?, well what they mean is that through Jesus death and our belief in Jesus, we can pray to God and He will see us as if we are clean, pure, white as snow because the blood that Jesus shed for us was Holy (Jesus is Holy), so God does not see our faults but instead He sees our faith in Jesus and our love for God.

...Of course in life we will continue to do wrong (just like people who fall and then get back up again), but because of Jesus we are prompted to know (discern) between right and wrong and so our paths are made straight, and we yearn to do good because it pleases the Father (God).

To be a Christian, a person needs to believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he came into the world to help us understand the nature of God. He was then killed because the world rejected His message. It is through his death (blood) that we are united with God because Jesus - as the Son of God- was sinless. Jesus died in the world, but GOD rose him up on the 3rd day after his death to sit on HIS right side in Heaven. So Jesus lives forever . It was his blood that was shed (that's it...when HE was crucified that is when He shed His blood for us; He showed how MUCH HE loved us by actually dying on our behalf so that we may come to GOD as if sinless)..

Please to understand this, pray to Jesus and ask Him to show you the right people, the right church, and to give you courage that will motivate you to continue to seek after Him. By seeking Him, you are seeking eternal LIFE. Yet if what you write is true (that you do want to be a Christian) it sounds like you've already begun the Christian journey. Jesus has called you to Him. Now, (if you do believe), tell Him that you do, and ask Him to forgive you for all the things you've done. And ask Him to show you who and where to turn to so that you may grow in your Christian faith. Take good care.

If you expect a bucket of blood, dumped on your head, you are mistaken.
Surely, you understand it's spiritual language. I mean, after all, when you give someone your heart, do you rip it out?
