Using either wooden or steel framing.

Wooden framing is the most common, because a concrete structure is first framed in wood, the steel is placed then the concrete is poured. The wooden framing is then removed. There are concrete molds, but keeping them clean and free of concrete is difficult so usually wood is used one time and then tossed out as waste.

In the US most skyscraper are built with a reinforced concrete core that requires a lot of steel inside of it. The outer skyscraper is then formed of steel.

Most residential construction is done with wooden framing. Some pre-engineer trusses are used, but this is not yet common.

One other method would be tilt wall construction. A steel reinforced wall is framed, poured and built on its side on site then rotated 90 degrees (tilted up) to put it into position. A lot of large low buildings like Wal Marts are built this way.

A wall or building can be built out of brick or CMU (Concrete Masonry Units = concrete bricks), but that takes a lot of time. Typically in Western Style framing the brick wall is a facade; a phony wall. The wooden frame holds the structure together.

Timber or log construction is possible and a specialty industry.

Any other forms of construction are more exotic and less seldom used.
