Get to a vet anyway. Have blood work run and an urine analysis. Any sudden changes in behavior can signal illness.
Especially in older pets.
Older pets can suffer from dementia, just like older people do. She may be confused.
Confine her when you have to leave her. The bathroom works well. Put her bed in there with a bowl of water and she should be fine.
Talk to the vet about changes you can make to your house, her diet, and anything else you can do to make her "golden years" comfortable and happy.
It's not as easy as it seems to care for elderly pets, and aren't they worth it? LOL!

The Husky is 12 years old. She might be having some incontinence. Or it is possible she has developed a urinary tract infection. My advice is to talk it over with the vet and have her tested. She may not seem to have health issues or bladder control problems, but it usually starts sometime. PLEASE DO NOT SHOW ANGER AT THE DOG. We had an old dog when I was in late grammar school. She developed an incontinence problem and my parents put off having her checked. We would get angry at her when we had to clean up the floor every day after school, but IT WASN'T HER FAULT. After she was put to sleep, and still to this day when I think of her and how we reacted, I feel awful. I wish I could go back in time and do what was right for her right away. You could tell my her facial expressions she knew she was wrong and was sorry. Please see the vet right away. Give the old girl a hug for me,

Something else must have changed. Has a work schedule changed, a new person in the house or visiting alot? Going out more often now, anything?
This is usually a behavior signal that they are not happy with their owner. Short of a behavior consultation, I would recommend not allowing her in the bedrooms when you're not home. If you have never crate trained her, that might be a difficult solution, if you have, she may need to be in the crate when you go out.
Not that it's the same thing, but I have a potbelly pig and he desperately needed his hooves trimmed. For a couple of times, he peed in the bed too. It was a combination of difficulty walking on the bad hooves and we had added a foster dog to the house that he did not care for. So in his case is was change and difficulty moving. The dog is gone now and the hooves are trimmed and he has gotten back in the habit of going outside.
If she is camped out on the bed and not moving until she pees, it could be arthritis or something that is making it difficult for her to move.
Those are my two guesses. Good luck!

My female schnauzer started doing the same thing during her sleep. It's very common as a spayed female pet "ages" to develop urinary incontinence. My vet put her on the lowest dose of Premarin (female hormones) and within 6 weeks her muscles in that area tightened up and no more leakage.

I agree, take dog to vet, may be a medical issue you are not aware of...otherwise, I agree that at 12, somthing must have changed for her to be exhibiting this behavior...really think about it, keep a log of when and why it Might be happening and if no conclusive evidence...GET HER TO VET!!!

I think that your dog may indeed have some separation anxieties. Also, sometimes show their emotiions by doing things that are not appropriate, in other words, she wants your attention. Getting her a chew toy or doggy treat may health redirect some of her behavior. Also, dogs are like humans, we all need structure. I think by spending time with the dog will help detour some of her fears.

If it only happens when you go out, she could be developing separation anxiety. My 12 year old dog started chewing my things when I left her.
You could keep your bedroom door closed when you go out, and maybe check with your vet.
