Depression is a psychological problem.
*Too much expectations from others and getting depressed when not met.
*Too many commitments.
*Disappointments.
*Loneliness.
*Others' betrayals.
*Our own social and mind set up.
*Natural phenomenons like what we call fate or destiny.
*Medication is only a temporary solution.
*Self awareness among ourselves and self learning and preparations for any eventuality.

I have been suffering from post partum depression for the past one year when I gave birth to a baby boy. I couldn't stop thinking about how my husband loves him more than me and how things might be better if he wasn't born at all. Thus, I stayed away from him because I knew that I might do something I will regret for the rest of my life.
Almost instantly I went to a therapist and convince them that I need help. Among other things, I've tried herbal supplements and other book to treat depression but nothing works like the Depression Free Method. So now I'm proud to say I'm one of the happiest mother in the world. My husband loves us both very much and I thank the Lord for the blessing he gave us.
Depression Free Method?

Alot of reason why people get depress, in my personal experience, stress, family problem, money problem, work, loneliness, debts each to its own contributes why we get depressed.
How to cope with it is to just sit down, read a nice book, let time go by, do some other things more relevant like cleaning the room, read a good book, have a chat with your neighbor, call a friend, play games on your computer.... just to set it aside and your not concentrated on whats causing you to be depress for that moment. Sleep and most importantly pray over it. God knows what its all about.
Any food can be a comfort food, but I would suggest you just eat whatever you deemed to be appropriate else you might be eating unhealthy food without you realizing that... some fruits would be nice to eat at least you also get a chance to go to the stalls or market and have a few chit chats with the vendors or saleslady and that might help ease you of whats bugging your mind.
Depression is a momentary state of focusing on the negative outsets of our life... just accept the fact that we arent perfect.
its not a genetic factor.... we just need to surround ourselves with more possitive people.

Some forms of depression are caused by a chemical imbalance. Medication is the only cure for that. I took Prozac, .25mg (that's a small dose) for five years. It worked wonders for me. I was suicidal. It made me feel normal! I have been off of it now for more than eight years and am still normal. Depression is a horrible condition.

there r different reasons
sometimes the environment makes u feel depressed for a short time which is not serios things like change (new job,new place), weather (if u dont like cloudy weather), seeing an accedent or hearing about someones tragedy
but at times its on going and it should be treated, when u loose intrest in everything, dont talk to people, and like to be alone all the time

depression is caused due to some unexpressed feeling deep in their mind.u must make the person realise that there r people around to care for them.show them love, take them to various places, make them feel important.keep talking to them.any food given with care works well.take them to a psychiatrist.he will try to retrieve the hidden memory that is depressing the person.
