I'm sure you'll have a lot of interesting answers for this question. I personally believe that a person should wait until they feel comfortabel and ready to engage in intercourse, whether or not you are a virgin. I once had a guy say to me "what's the big deal for you to engage with me if you've done it so many times before?" Well, it is a big deal because having done it many times (w/ one person) doesn't mean that I want to go jumping every guy's bone. Moral, do it when you feel like you would like to make that extra step in the relationship (this goes for guys and girls). Our society today portrays everything in a sexual manner & more and more people are engaging in causal sex, which consequently leads to the desentization of sex, unfortunately. However, that does not mean you have to jump on the bandwagon and it does not mean you should be judged for your decison. You might want to discuss it with your partner to let her know how you feel and to explain to her your reason for waiting. Also, you can always partake in other non-intercourse acts. In the end it all comes down to you and your values and whether or not you think you are ready...n don't forget safety first =))

at this point in my life i dont think i would want to wait a year. I've been having sex on a regular basis for 10 years now and to take a year off would be really difficult. I wouldn't say for sure i wouldnt though, if i ran in to the right woman i think i could handle it.
Would there be any oral or manual sex going on during this waiting period?
I did wait when i was 17 for a year and a half to sleep with my highschool sweetheart. but we were having oral like rabbits so it kept me in check. lol

I think you can wait a year, but I wouldn't wait a year. I say depending on your age 2-4 months tops. Women know if they'll have sex with you the first time they lay eyes on you. Obviously she's not into you.

If you love her and have respect for her then you will wait till shes ready.. ask yourself how long can i wait till she has a baby?...love waits and sex is sex .... make it right and don't just have sex ..try being in love and making love..it's not the boys who get the bad names when it don't work out , it's the girls who does and it's the girl that ends up taking care of a child with no father. think before doing.

A man can wait as long as he has to until he and the girlfriend are married.
Premarital sex is wrong, so there is your answer.

I would wait a maximum of 3 dates/2 weeks. If she isn't having sex by then, she's trying to put her cooter on a pedestal by playing childish games with her cooter. Contrary to popular belief, if a woman really likes you, she'll give it up within' 2 weeks.

you don't have to wait, you know. s*x is part of the package deal already.when both people are in love, s*x or making love just follows. if the girl is so concerned of her virginity or if she has religious thingy, then i believe the guy would have to wait until she decides to give in to him. hence, the time of as to how long it will take, no one really knows. if the guy is really in to having it with his girlfriend, he will then just have to give her a hint that he would want to express his love sexually.
the woman will either understand and give in or reject it. nevertheless, maybe the girl is just waiting for the guy to make the first move. you know. , some women are just waiting for their partners to make a first move.
good luck and hope you will be successful with this situation. =\0

Oh my gosh, you must be young.
Trust me, it will not fall off if you wait over a year, in fact, you should wait until marriage, that is the traditional way of things and Biblical way.
If you truly love someone, you will honor their right to say they want to wait.
You are young I suspect but with the way you are thinking now, you'd be lucky to even get a girlfriend.
Ya got to respect them, they are not your sex toys!!

Lots of people wait till marriage. Can be years. Depends on how much you want to save it for that special time when you are husband and wife.
