I'm into halloween, a little more then most. My costume is coming together nicely, and I'm working on finishing touches. Which brings me to my problem. I've got dark brown hair, that has a few lemon induced red streaks, but for my costume I need blonde hair, and I figured a temp color (washout 7-10 shampoos) would be the way to go. But I'm not quite sure if that'll work with my dark hair. I know temp colors cover the hair, but will it work with my dark color?

A temp colour won't lift dark hair to a blonde, it doesn't have the strength to do it. You're better of getting a wig.

Try a wig. Going blonde from dark brown will require you to bleach it. Boxed color from the store has low lightening ability (oneor two shades) and you will most likely end up red instead. Perhaps a 'spray in' color or a wig?

Temp colour probably won't work.
It's hard enough trying to dye hair blonde from a dark colour.
Your best off going to a hairdresser/salon and seeing what they can do.
Try costume shops for blonde wigs.

hi glad your going to have fun, as a salon owner and colourist
the answer is a firm no, there is no wash in wash out colour that turn your hair from dark to blonde, as they contain no bleaching agents, you would be better buying a wig, or go the whole way and have it bleached platinum blonde ?
have a great time

No....but you can try a can of spray on color.....The process of turning blond is the process of taking out color from the hair which is no longer temp, but permanent.

No. In order for someone to turn there hair blonde they have to remove the color from it. When you dye your hair blonde your actually stripping it.

Getting blonde hair requires bleach doesn't it? And that isn't going to fade...
It's not at all like dying your hair darker.

Didn't work for me. I'd call a beauty school and see what they can do. Their prices are less than a salon.
