No. If we ever have to get into that kind of war again, we'll need mines to make up for our limited number of infantry. And the US maps out its minefields, and even has mines that shut down with time, to avoid the horror stories that are associated with their indiscriminate use.

For many years we have used minefields to create protective perimeters around field hospitals and aid stations. That's because the Law of Land Warfare (Geneva Conventions) deems medical personnel as non-combatants. Use of this technique frees up a battalion or more of combat personnel, per each medical unit, to take on the enemy. But, the twits that drafted this treaty didn't even consider a request for an exemption to allow such use of land mines.

No. Anti-personnel landmines are a legitimate area denial weapon and not banned by any treaty governing warfare that I am aware of.

There are existing legitimate uses now, such as the border between North and South Korea as well as protection of key Israeli areas against terrorist attack.

No, landmines are needed. In case you did not know it there is a huge army in North Korea that can come south at any instant. In order to buy time for reinforcements we need landmines.

no because some mines provide early warning for us scouts and provide a significant amount of damage that saves us ammo

yes we should but i'm thinking the landmine makers like the oil companies and gun makers are paying off our so called leaders to get their way

NO. it to good a defense weapon. but it should be control better as to were they are and pick after the action or no longer needed.
