It's that time of year again...please watch out for your black cats. Shelters won't even adopt them out during October because around this time of year freaks are looking for everything from a prop for their haunted house to a sacrifice for their ritual. Will you be careful with your kitties?

OMG, I hadn't even considered that. Thanks for the warning. My cats are indoors-only, so I won't have to worry so much about someone stupid snatching him.

Yep we kept our black cat and the red tabby and the tortie all inside durning Halloween. Sadly two of them are gone and I no longer own the tortie but not becuase of those sadistic freaks. Lost two white ones to the neighbor kid and we were always more careful after that.

i am always careful with my kitty, she isn't true black but she's that blue grey that gets mistaken for black...i keep her indoors most of the time anyway, except when she does a houdini thing and escapes and trotts across the yard, tail held high, in hopes of doing some serious hunting i'm sure.

Thank you for the warning! When I was a kid we had a black cat and a black kitten. They disappeared together from our yard the day before Hallowe'en. I still hate to think about it. My cats stay in, now...

Got two of them!!
Every Halloween I sit out side freezing my tail off (I live in Northeast Ohio) so I don't have to open the door over and over taking a chance they might get out.

luckily, my black cat runs away from everyone except for me,my brother and mother, but I will watch out for my kitty :>

Yes, one of our cats is black and we keep her very near us at this time of year. Not that she ever wants to leave my husband's side for long anyway-she's turned out to be his baby. Thanks for reminding everyone and for all you've done for your little ones.
