Have you read any reviews of the cameras in question? If not, that would be a good starting point. Visit steves-digicams.com.

IMO, you should consider going to a real camera store - one that only sells cameras, not 10,001 other things and cameras. The salespeople in camera stores are trained and knowledgeable about every camera they sell. They can answer questions, help solve problems and offer intelligent advice. They can show you the features and benefits of every camera.

If you do take up their time you should buy from them. Most salespeople in specialty stores are on commission. It just isn't right to take up their time and then "stiff" them by buying elsewhere. Some stores offer an hour or two of hands-on instruction with your new camera.

Happy shopping!

Before you buy, read reviews. go to www.amazon.com and type in in the search bar the cameras that you are looking for and open the page up with the camera overview. to the right of the picture it should have a certain number of gold stars and it will say based on __ customer reviews. below that there is an icon that says view all __ custome reviews, click on that and start reading!
