Suicide is murder of oneself. Assisted or not, it is still murder.

I'm for it. Anyone insisting a terminally ill individual endure incredible pain because they (the insister -if you will) finds physician assisted suicide morally reprehensible is a selfish, heartless, fundamentalist.
On another note, anyone claiming physician assisted suicide violates "God's" law isn't taking into account the simple fact that most of those who are utilizing it would have been dead long before suicide was necessary had modern medicine not stepped in. In other words, "God's" will of a natural death has already been violated.
This of course brings up the question of an omniscient god. Next time...

If it is the person's choice, then it is their choice. Whether they can speak it or had it in writing. There are times when a person is in a condition when they just need to go, and want to go, to just make their suffering stop. Even though it's sad, I don't think it's fair that we would humanely euthanize an animal, yet let a human suffer for as long as possible. And then their family suffers both the grief AND the costs the hospital racked up while keeping them alive, and suffering, for as long as possible.
In that kind of circumstance, I don't think it should even be considered suicide if the person was on their death bed anyhow.

I am for it. I think people's resistance to it is probably based on a (mis)perception of a slippery slope. That is, once we allow terminally ill people to choose to end their own lives, we'll soon be killing all sick people, without their consent, or something. It's a silly, missing-the-point argument. The point is, of course, that a person has the right to do whatever he or she wants to their own body, so long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others to do so (not to mention basic human compassion for people who are suffering needlessly). Obviously, people who object to it are not sadists, but they clearly are not perceiving the situation rationally. It just takes a bit of empathy to see what the right thing to do is.

If you see an almost-dead animal on the side of the road in absolute agony, and there's no hope of saving them, are you going to stand there and watch them writhe, twist, and suffer a horrible torture, or are you going to put them out of their pain?

I personally wouldn't do it, at least that is how I feel now. I think people should be able to make that choice and have it facilitated if needed.

Absolutely in favor of it. It's a personal choice.
If an animal is suffering and in pain where each day is a struggle to exist, we call it "humane" to euthanize them.
Why are humans not allowed to be treated "humanely"?

If both people consent with it and both are comfortable, and nothing is forced at all. I see nothing wrong with it. It's just like an executioner giving an inmate lethal injection. Well except they don't want it. :)
