I thought all you religious people weren't supposed to judge others? or does that just apply to people of your religious beliefs?

maybe I should rephrase the question. I want to know why people seem to "pick on" atheists. to say that they have NO beliefs is absolutely false. they believe in being a good person and treating everyone equally-regardless of their beliefs. It is interesting to me that the ratio of questions from Christians towards atheists far outways the questions from atheists.

atheism is a disblief in the existence of god. I'm unsure if i believe in god, he may exist, however i highly doubt it. I don't think that is bad. Having faith isn't so bad. I just think you can have emotional and spiritual peace without religion. That's all i want and need.

There is a difference between judging actions and judging people. If religious people were never suppose to judge then they could never serve jury duty. We dont have to allow certain things in our lives that will bring us down. I am not saying atheists do that, it is just a way to show how sometimes we have to make judgements.

I think that some atheists are just as judgemental as some christians. Atheists dont bug me. Special interest atheist groups that try to push their tiny tiny minority views onto the overwhelming over 90 percent christian majority in the US annoy me. Atheists that twist the Constitution and the intent of the founding fathers to justify taking away anything related to God from our society annoy me. Those atheists have zero respect or tolerance for christianity yet expect an incredibly high amount of tolerance and respect for their beliefs.

Why are people so surprised that there are more christian questions then atheist ones? Just looking that US 90 percent of americans identify themselves as christians so well sorry but, duh, there are more christians. If you look at this message board, statistically speaking, given that atheists make up such a tiny minority worldwide, there is a much much much larger percentage of atheists that are actually ripping on christians. A good majority of christian questions end up with atheists mocking and bashing that question askers beliefs. Given the fact that there are far less atheists then christians there should be a lot less bashing, statistically, and there just isnt.

I am not la religious freak but i do judge against some self-proclaimed Atheists. It seems to be a phase to call your self Atheist simply because bad things have happened in your life. I do not actually mind the practice of Atheism, on the contrary i respect it a great deal. When practicing true Atheism, you believe that you have only one life to live so you must do your best to be a good person. The only problem i have is that many people just say they are Atheist because they do not believe in God. That is what we call agnostic, not Atheist.

What I'd like to know is why atheists come to the R & S section and try to annoy people who do have religious beliefs. They believe in nothing, so why bother?

From what I see quite a lot like to judge almost anything they can. Of course this is not everybody. Just a very vocal minority. I will date a dude that has a god. Because I'm not a hypocrite. I look at the person, Not the religion.

First you ask "what's the big deal about atheists" inviting people to judge atheists, then you said religious people weren't supposed to judge others.

What gives?
------

Actually, John T, atheists are queer to you because our view contradict your's, in another sense, theists are queer too, in the mentally unbalanced part.

I don't judge others. I do call a spade a spade. There is a difference between disagreement and judgment. (Incidentally, Christians are to call one another to accountability based on their stated beliefs. That accountability is not judgment, and it does not apply to non-believers.)

We are not suppose to but many people do it anyway. I as a christian, should simply tell people the truth about Christ and pray that they will believe in him.

Some judge others to try and break a point to them about how crazy there ideal my be but that is not the right way to go about it.

Judging others is inherent in many religions. For example most religions believe that only those of their specific faith will go to heaven, the others will burn in HELL!

Which religious beliefs are you mentioning? Atheists? Atheists don't have religious beliefs.........duh.....or are you talking about Christians, in that case you're generalizing, because I don't judge Atheists....atleast not based on their stance on religion.
