Its my friend's birthday, and I don't know what to write in the card! Its a guy, so nothing too emotional. I've only known him for a month (since school started), so nothing too personal either.

You had me fooled. Rarely do people make friends after only knowing them a month. The fellow is only an acquaintance of yours so simply wish him a happy and memorable birthday.
Glamasauras: Would any of those 20 friends be willing to lay down their life for you if necessary? There is a big difference between a true friend and an acquaintance or school chum.
