In the movie "Dogma" there was an angel that spoke for God. Was this something made up for the movie or does the bible tell of an angel that is a messenger for God? Does that angel have a name?

The Metatron:

In the Kevin Smith film Dogma, Metatron is played by Alan Rickman. Metatron (also "the Metatron") acts as the Voice of God, as Humans and other mortal beings "have neither the aural or psychological capacity" to communicate directly with God. He claims to have revealed Jesus' destiny to Him as a small boy, a duty he abhorred because he thought the boy too young to deal with the ramifications. He has similar reservations concerning Bethany, the film's protagonist.

Metatron is a seraphim. Yep, they didn't invent it for the movie. However seraphim are described as having three sets of wings, one over their face, one in the back, and ones covering the feet.

The Christian and Judaic hierarchies of angels are NOT identical. :) But Metatron is named in both.
