to protect our country from enemies both foreign and domestic

I didn't fight for my country. I fought to protect and defend the Constitution of the U.S. against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I also fought to keep the fellows five meters or less to my right and left alive and myself as well. If you take one look at some of the questioners on this site, you would never even help many of them to survive a rain storm, let alone a war.
I keep counsel with my fellow veterans and with the young men and women who have also chosen to join the armed forces to support and defend that Consitution. As for the rest, I am glad to see the back of them.

Choosing to serve your country is noble. It is necessary.

A patriot sees danger, and fights when duty calls.

A coward sees danger, and denies war is necessary.

An ungrateful, useless excuse for a citizen sees the danger, recognizes that danger, and chooses whether the fight is justified by the poltical gains to be made by the choice they make.

Avoid war as long as possible, but do not allow the enemy the advantage. Choose war as a last resort, but choose war before war chooses you.

I believe that some things are indeed worth fighting for, and the safety of our country and our citizens is worth it in my opinion.

I wish I had qualified to serve our country in the armed forces, but due to an auto accident in high school and very poor eyesight, I didn't qualify.

I am proud that my father-in-law, brother-in-law and nephew have all proudly served in the armed forces of the United States (Navy, Naval Reserves and Army respectively), and I am happy that our daughter wants to go to the US Naval Academy and follow in the footsteps of her grandfather.

Anyone willing to serve our country and possibly make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom has earned my deepest appreciation and respect.

God Bless Our Troops.

I know as a Marine we taught that we fight for each other, the Marine next to you. I never cared about the politics, what the country cared about or anything else. The guys in your team are your family and your job is to protect them just as theirs is to protect you. I never concidered fighting for my country, but will gladly fight for my Marines.

It is my duty to bother Her Majesty and God to defend Great Britain against all enemies at home and abroad.

Simple as this: It is my duty, and as we all know, "England expects that every man will do his duty".
