Feeling comfortable with yourself takes years to do this but quite frankly, the easiest way is to to just say I'd rather be with this person alone tonight. Could I spend time with you another evening? It certainly is something you learn to be comfortable with but there is no time like the present to start practicing it. If a friend doesn't understand this,they may not be a friend.

I always find throwing a large bucket of cold water over their heads, whilst screaming "Back Off", coupled with the delivery of several Taxi company numbers... a highly effective technique!!!. Problem is they may never talk to you ever again!! But hey!!, if they can,t take a HINT??? waddaya supposed to do??? hahahahaha xxxx.

You can explain to the 3rd person that you need to spend some quality time with the other person, and promise to spend some special time with them in the near future - that way, they won't feel too slighted.

This trip is for 'A' and 'B' so 'C' your way home. Just kidding. I would just sit the 3 of you down and talk about it tactfully explaining that the two of you want to go by yourselves. Peace

Tell the third person, "Hey, I was hoping to spend a little quality time with so-and-so. We can hang out some other time, ok?"

Make it a point to buy just 2 tix and don't mention it until the last minute where the third person can't get a 3rd and mention you bought them a long time ago because you wanted some time alone with the person.
