Greetings. the rifles usually used are dummies. or non functional actual rifles. precision drill teams use Springfields, bolt action from world war 1, or Garand rifles from 1938 to about Vietnam. The dummie rifles are stripped internally to lower their weight so many of the movements called for in precision drills are possible. A Garand in combat trim weighs out at near 10 pounds. You can get a drill rifle on occasion in Shotgun News. Real American military rifles are very highly priced though. A good Garand starting at about $500 and going up rapidly. A suggestion would be to get a German K98k, the bolt action rifle the German military used in World War 1 and 2. the American Springfield 03 was a copy of the Mauser K98k, America even had to pay Germany a fee for using their design that was patented. Mauser is close to the Springfield in weight and size. Any precision manuver that can be done with the Springfield can be done with the 98, and you can get a good 98 for about $100 or a wall hanger, which is not suitable for actual firing for much less. a little while ago Turkish Mauser M38's were going for about $30 each. With that you could practice to your hearts content and build up your arms as well as your technique before entering the service. Good luck. you will find it hard to believe how heavy a military main battle rifle becomes after using it for a while.
