hi. Sorry you are going through this. I am not a doctor, but i would say you are experiencing some depression.Depression is a disorder that affects your thoughts, moods, feelings, behavior and even your physical health. People used to think it was "all in your head" and that if you really tried, you could "snap out of it" or just "get over it." But doctors now know that depression is not a weakness, and it's not something you can treat on your own. Depression is a medical disorder with a biological and chemical basis.

Sometimes a stressful life event triggers depression. Other times depression seems to occur spontaneously with no identifiable specific cause. Depression is much more than grieving or a bout of the blues.

Depression may occur only once in a person's life. Often, however, it occurs as repeated episodes over a lifetime, with periods free of depression in between. Or it may be a chronic condition, requiring ongoing treatment over a lifetime.

People of all ages and races suffer from depression. Medications are available that are generally safe and effective, even for the most severe depression. With proper treatment, most people with serious depression improve, often within weeks, and can return to normal daily activities.

If you show little interest in once-enjoyable activities, if you feel sad, helpless, tired or worthless, and if your eating and sleeping habits have changed greatly, see your doctor to determine if you have depression.

Depression is a serious illness that can take a terrible toll on individuals and families. Untreated, depression can lead to a downward spiral of disability, dependency and suicide. Women attempt suicide more often than men do, but men are much more likely to succeed in killing themselves. The rate of suicide is four times greater for men. Men over 70 are the most likely to commit suicide.

Certain warning signs may indicate serious depression and the possibility of suicide. Take any threat of suicide seriously, even if the person is already being treated for depression. If you see any of the following danger signs, call a doctor, mental health clinic or suicide hot line immediately:

-Pacing, agitated behavior, frequent mood changes and sleeplessness for several nights
-Actions or threats of assault, physical harm or violence
-Threats or talk of death or suicide, such as "I don't care anymore," or "You won't need to worry about me much longer"
-Withdrawal from activities and relationships
-Putting affairs in order, such as saying goodbye to friends, giving away prized possessions or writing a will
-A sudden brightening of mood after a period of being depressed
-Unusually risky behavior, such as buying or handling a gun or driving recklessly

Take Care of Yourself! You are definetely NOT alone.

Moose, I can't tell you how many times I have felt this way. I actually made up a list on my player of my angry songs and when I feel like this I go through my list of songs then gradually work over to some good songs...life has it's ups and downs and believe me people feel this way all the time which doesn't seem fair and it really sucks! Sometimes I sleep it off...I usually want to be alone though because it helps me kinda clear my head...I blog, watch tv, play games online with other people just to get my mind onto something else and away from everyone that I know...I have a past that will haunt me the rest of my life...not because of me but because of the people I chose to have around me and the consequences it brought...there is a saying that I go by daily though and it takes time to heal through any issue you may have or be going through...you can let life take control of you or you can take control of your life.

Hello!
As human beings we all have an empty vacumme inside .
God created man this way so we would see our need to come back to Him.
Some will make the choice John3:16 others will not.
People try to fill this emptiness with all sorts of things but the only way is through God and His plan for your life.
This is the point to life and on leaving this earth eternal life.
As for hating your life you can bring the changes about to better it.
Set yourself some goals where would you like your life to be in 5 years.
Start making some changes.
You don't have a right to hate anyone including yourself God loves you as you are.
Each morning you wake up you have been given breath just for today.
Live in the moment and be thankful for your health ,listen to the birds singing, watch the clouds roll by there is a lot of beauty in this world.
Jesus Christ said" Don't look at tomorrow, it has not arrived and when it does it will take care of itself when it comes". .

Take care!

Honestly, you are right. It is sometimes hard to make a sense out of this life. But, that doesn't mean we all should be depressed or become suicidal. What I understood is that we don't need to try to make sense out of this life. But rather, concentrate on other things such as your career and/or your family, and really devote your life to it. Eventually, whether u like it or not, life becomes meaningful to you. We just need little patience. Age will be the determinant factor to this enlightenment.
So, you just stop moaning about life being senseless and meaningless, and start concentrating on something else such as making accoplishment.

I am so sorry you are feeling this way but I can assure you there is a point to your life. Many people love you and need you. Try to perk yourself up and do something that makes you feel good. If you like doing crafts go take a class. If you like doing sports sign up for a team. Just do something that can make you proud of who you are. It would also be a good idea to speak to a doctor about anti depression meds and seeing a therapist. I have beenn doing it for 5 years and it works wonders for me. Best of luck and email me if you need to talk. ((Hugs))

I've been there. You have to MAKE yourself put one foot in front of another, and remember that "this too shall pass." It may be hard to see right now, but it will get better. Find someone you can talk to, and talk it out. Speak with a counselor, teacher, minister, someone you trust.

You are not supposed to be miserable or discouraged, remember that and remember that you deserve a happy abundant life. Don't give up.

Best wishes.

In this "Mental Health" section, you will get answers that imply that your mental health is not good. But in the Philosophy section, you will see that point in life is a philosophic question.

"There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. Deciding whether or not life is worth living is to answer the fundamental question in philosophy. All other questions follow from that." (Albert Camus-noted philosopher)

"Point in life" implies a "purpose of life" and without God, life has no purpose.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted philosopher)

If God exists, then there is a real purpose to life and that purpose is to seek God and to know God. If we reject God, then there is no purpose and all we can do is to try things that will make us feel better about ourselves and/or forget that our lives are pointless.

we all need something to look forward to at the end of the day. You need to figure out what that is for you. Stop judging yourself, and recognize that you are not perfect, so whatever has happened to trigger this depression, understand that we all make mistakes, and this WILL pass. Find your happiness, it is there.

It sounds like you are suffering from depression...Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. More people than you would think suffer from this. I felt exactly like you do about 2 years ago....See your Gp,and they can refer you to counselling. I didn't want to go because i felt embarrassed but seriously there is nothing to be embarrassed about......
I am now completely happy with myself and my life...
Good luck:-))
