I don't want to buy these diapers that cost so much, is there anyway to train these small babies? I have been trying to train him for more than 2 months, but he doesn't learn.
Thanks for your help

You might want to look into the diaper-free baby movement:

Zalem, if you haven't invested in a parenting book or been part of parenting classes, then I make a genuine suggestion for you to LEARN about children.

If you're asking a question like this (and I will treat it like it's legit though I'm struggling with the notion) then I hold grave fears for your child! If you think a 5 month old baby needs DISCIPLINE because it REFUSES to be potty trained then will you discipline a two year old for not asking before they take a cigarette or swig of alcohol?

I honestly think you've got no idea what you're doing and that is a major concern.
(Holding a small baby over a potty when it goes toilet doesn't teach them about controlling their bladder and bowels, it just means a parent doesn't have to change a diaper)

That aside, your baby will NOT respond to potty training at this age and you will just have to ..

1. suck it up and buy the diapers
2. research cloth diaper options

There are plenty of user friendly cloth diapers on the market ranging from the terry towelling diapers to reusable velcro pants etc.

At five months, the child can't even walk! How do expect him to sit on the potty and do his business when he has no control over his bodily functions yet? Here's an idea. Use cloths like in the olden days (much better for the babies skin) but then you'll have a problem with your wife who will develop a hernia from washing them every five minutes! LOL.

You can't train a child that young to hold his urine and then release it into even a tiny potty chair.

Children need to be walking, talking and have a more developed bladder before they can learn how to control and release at will.

Most children are 21/2 to 3 years old when they begin and there are plenty of mishaps along the way to mastery.

Diapers cost money, but child psychologists cost far more. What you are doing is creating confusion and distress in your baby. Your expectations need to be in line with the child's development. The baby's pediatrician should be giving you information on development each time you have a check-up.

Another ridiculous question-BUT in the event this is legit, there is a new for of 'potty training infants' called Elimination Communication. Google the phrase. It basically forces the parent to look for signs of peeing/pooiping and to hold the child over the toilet bowl, or put some kind of porta potty underneathe to catch it. It's NOT for me, but others have sworn by it.

But the cloth dipes do the trick for a lot less money than disposables over time.

Forget the cloth diapers. Why should you have to continually throw poo into the laundry? It could stain your own clothes.

No, if your 5 month-old STILL hasn't learned to get on the dang toilet by himself yet then it's time to make him a ward of the state. They can institutionalize him with the other 'slow' infants. Children like him will never have an I.Q. over 150 and thus are worthless to the future of America.

Not to brag, but my kid learned at 3 months, after a grueling 90 days of sleep deprivation and hard candy.

:-D

A 5 month old isn't capable of understanding what potty training is, or in holding his bladder, let alone his bowels. Their brains aren't developed enough to understand the connection, or to even be able to know when they are going. Give it up for a few years. And boys are harder to potty train then girls, so good luck with that!!

Potty training a 5 MONTH OLD?? Kinda young to be potty trained. And you said you have been trying for two months?? Means you been training since 3 months old. Hope you got your math wrong because that is WAY to youngto be training.

You shouldn't as 5 year olds ( especially boys ) are not ready to be potty trained. My kids were both around 2 years before they even started and even then there were accidents.

You've got to be joking! They don't even know how to stand on their own 2 feet yet. Give it 1-2 more years. Get cloth diapers and wash them instead of buying paper ones.
