He can and will if He so choses. He did in the Old and New Testament. But God primarily speaks through His WORD to the hearts (spirit) of those who believe.

PSALM 14:1 The FOOL has said in his heart "there is no God".......

Doesn't have to.......but He can if He wants to. There was another time He was silent for 400 years....between the Old and New Testament. Who can understand the mind of God? His thoughts are higher than ours. His ways are not our ways. Does it really matter if He talks out loud or speaks in a still quiet voice? He gets His message across loud and clear anytime, anyway He wants.

You will see in the Bible that he has. I have heard Him a couple of times, audibly. Usually He communicates in the Spirit.

As a Christian I sometimes Fast and Pray, during those times of fasting I have heard that small still voice in my heart, Of course every Christian knows that it is the Holy Spirit thats speaking, People today just donot make the commitment needed to hear God. Myself included, The Bible says to draw nigh unto God and he will draw nigh unto you. We just simply lack the faith today needed to hear more from God, The Bible says in Matt. and Luke, for where your treasure is, there your heart will be all so, if our treasure was Jesus Christ we would here his Holy Spirit more. The Bible is full of examples we can follow to hear from God but we fall to follow them, Of course, in order to hear Gods Holy Spirit you must be a born again believer, John 3:3. have you ever been saved, have you accepted Jesus's death on the cross as fact, if so you can be saved right now, just say this simple prayer, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

now and lower back God does communicate audibly. Examples from the old testomony: 1 Samuel 3:a million-19 provides the account of youthful Samuel serving the priest Eli interior the temple, while sometime as he lay all the way down to sleep, the Lord talked approximately as his call. Out loud three times. Samuel did no longer be attentive to it grew to become into the Lord. Samuel theory that Eli had talked approximately as him, which Eli had no longer, hence what Samuel heard, had to have been audible. Eli instructed the baby to pass lower back and lie down and if he heard his call being talked approximately as lower back, to respond to: "talk Lord, for thy servant heareth." collectively as i grew to become into on my own in my hotel room in Namboboto Kenya, God spoke to me in an audible voice telling me i might "pass" for Him to the 4 corners of the earth. in spite of if God does at situations talk to human beings in an audible voice, a good number of the time He speaks to our spirits. for this reason we are able to take heed to His voice devoid of audibly listening to. God is a Spirit. He created interior us a spirit additionally. it particularly is what separates us from animals. we've a spirit, yet animals do no longer. we are able to conversing with God by using our spirits. he's conversing, yet we would desire to place aside our own techniques, needs and desires and permit Him to declare what He needs us to take heed to, and we would desire to be prepared to take heed to His will and not our own..

We're here on earth to learn. But somethings like faith, require you to actually experience.

Anyway, I think people would no more listen to him if he talked loudly and clearly than they do now. So he might as well just keep doing his thing, and speak in a still small voice and not waste anymore effort than He has to.

First off it doesn't matter if your an Atheist or a Christian, Baptist or Catholic and so on the point is he, GOD, exists and he communicates to us through the Holy Spirit. For those who believe in him and have more faith in him can hear HIM in a way he only wants you to hear. He does not speak to you in the way we speak to one another. You just need to open your heart to him and have more faith and then and only then will you understand.

God does talk audibly...

-In music
-In movies
-Those close to you
-Strangers
-A book (that is good to you)
-Nature
-From within (you know how we always tend to say, "something told me to do or not to do that")

Hmmm...what do you think?

I like your question...and your sense of curiousity and wonder...keep asking questions...keep exploring...this is how we grow...never limit yourself to what another person believes.....you will be surprised what you will find out....

Maybe because you don't know how to listen?
It is a still, small voice...in order to hear it, you'll have to hush the clamor going on, both around you, and within your own mind.
That isn't easy, but it can be done.
Once you have heard His voice, it will change your life forever. Folks who haven't heard Him will do their level best to convince you that you might be anything from mistaken to downright crazy...but you will know.
And that "knowing" is worth it all...
