Hi everybody. I have a little problem and I would be very glad to get a decent advice. I'm a freshman at a high school. I turned 15 this june, so i'm kind of ahead of a lot of my classmates and friends. Couple of days ago, an interesting idea striked my mind. I don't want to graduate when i'll be 19. I want to graduade just like everybody else. So, I thought grade skipping would be a good idea. I'm in two honors classes and I do pretty well. I have no problems with grades what so ever. But I don't know what shoul I do. I'm a little afraid to talk to my parents abot it, because they're very strict with everything that has to do with school and i'm afraid of their reaction... but at the same time i went to school kind of late. when i was 7. I don't know the reason. So, please somebody, can you help me? Thanks.

Graduating at 19 is not young, as starting school when you're 7 is not young. Most parents wait to send their child to school, especially if they have a Summer birthday. There are so many benefits from a child leaning on the older side, rather than the young side. The biggest benefit is graduating when you're 19! I know you don't understand now, but having extra time to mature before you go out into the "real world" will really help you. Don't get too anxious. Your parents did the right thing sending you later, as I'm sure it's helped you have an easier time with grades and school work. You might feel older because of the number of your age, but that's silly. Stick it out and you won't regret you did. You may regret trying to get through things faster, though!

Generally, you don't skip grades in high school. If you want to graduate early, you take extra classes like 0 periods and summer school in order to get more credits. Once you've fulfilled the requirements for all of your credits, you can graduate.

Personally, I wouldn't graduate early. I'm a senior and I had the option to do so, but I made too many friends throughout high school and I want my graduation to be memorable and to be with my friends. That, and I didn't want to be the weird kid that comes back to visit all the time for lack of a social life. ;]

I would just keep going and Graduate.
When I was in school we had a friend. His Birthday was in October I think. But, because of some "Mumbo-Jumbo" he actually started early with us. Most of us were 18 when we graduated and he was 17. I not think it that big a deal, I would try to get out and get into College where the real learning starts.

In the link, I not think this boy worried about age, he moved on down the road and started college.
