Yes: the Apostle John penned the Epistle [letter] of the "Unveiling" or "Revelation", from his exile to the Isle of Patmos, Greece, under the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit, to the seven churches throughout Asia minor. Obviously; John wrote this or we would not have it with us today.

Yes he is...he is referred to as
John the Beloved and he was
very young when Jesus was
ministering. I don't think he
was a fisherman.

No, this John was being hunted by the romans. His "anti-christ" in the story is really Nero. The emperior who was hunting him. He was also insane!
