I have a BA in criminal justice, a BA in Psychology, and a minor in Sociology. I want to be an FDLE agent(which requires a Bachelor's or 4 year experience in law enforcement)...indefinitely. I dropped out of law school...not for me... and want to work in the criminal justice field. What are my options? I do not want to go into Corrections..as I have a degree and I am not a cop wannabe. I do not want to work as a police officer....I prefer detective and forensic work...any opinions? Thanks so much.

As a retired Correction Officer, I should feel insulted, about the "cop wannabe" comment. However, I've also been a cop, so I know both sides of the street. As a suggestion, You can go into Parole or Probation, and start a career, in either with your background. As to becoming a Detective, You have to be a patrol officer first, and forensics, is not like television, you need specialized studies, for that.

You have to start at the bottom and work your way there.
