checks were not made out to any one, are they cashable, or if i cash them do i have to pay the amount back????

If the checks are not made out to you, you can not cash them. Since they're traveler's checks, chances are they have already been replaced and are worthless now.

Sounds like a scam. If you cash them and they bounce, you have to pay them back.

If you cash them and they do not belong to you or are stolen, you could go to jail for fraud.

could be stolen, counterfeit, etc. If you deposit them, I'd wait 30 days before spending the money. If someone gave these to you, and is asking you to give any proceeds back to him, then you KNOW that they're no good.
