Dandruff is one of the major disorders of the scalp.Poor hygiene, improper diet ,sluggish condition of the scalp caused by poor blood circulation are the main causes of dandruff. A herbal rinse is a safe method of removing dandruff. Apply lemon juice with the rind on the scalp .After 5 minutes wash off with shampoo and water. 1] comb out tangles and massage scalp before shampooing [ loosens flakes ]
2] use Neutrogena TSal shampoo and conditioner.
3] after wetting hair, apply 50 cent size amount to palm, Rub together, and apply to scalp and roots, not shaft of hair. Scrub with pads of fingers, about as hard as you brush your teeth. Rinse thoroughly. If didn't lather well the first time, wash again.
4] apply conditioner to shaft and ends of hair - not scalp or roots so much. Rinse twice as much as you normally do.
5] squeeze water out of hair
6] wrap hair in towel - do not rub
7] scrub combs, brushes, etc., with shampoo and a nail brush or old toothbrush
8] comb out tangles - never brush or rub wet hair - it will break and split
9] take multivitamins with minerals every day
10] drink 1/2 gallon of water daily
11] avoid fried, fast, and junk foods - even diet junk foods
12] use every day for one week - if no better, see a doctor for prescription

Well I always had bad dandruff but there really is no way to get rid of it. It is dead skin on your scalp. Try having someone scratch it with a comb and then get in washed and it will lower the amount that is on your hair. My mom does this everyweek.

When you wash your hair make sure you rinse it really good. Some times dandruff is dried up shampoo. If thats not it, change your shampoo to something softer. YOur dandruff could just be dry skin...

(p.s avoid wearing black untill this problem is fixed! haha)

Scrub the scalp as hard as you can and then look in it again.
If you still see flakes, go back and scrub some more.
If that doesn't work, use a comb and rub the hair to make the dandruff get out.
