IF you read the Bible, you would know your question wrong. Jesus is NOT God. He is the son of God. As
John 1:2 says "He was with God in the beginning."
John 1:18 "No one has ever seen God,..." God has always been in heaven.
There are over 500 places in the New testament that state this.
Some people want to have an "image" of God; which the Bible says is wrong. So they figure IF they claim Jesus is God, then they can commit the sin and it won't be a sin. I feel sure more would obey the Bible, if they read their Bibles, instead of hid them away, more people would realize this.

Why does any teacher show examples to his or her students, of how to complete a certain task or assignment?
The L-RD G-d, while in human flesh, taught us not only have to pray, but to treat others, as well as other lessons He desires for us to learn - by example. Sorry, but it is not that complicated to figure out or understand.
Edit:
To those who say that the Trinity equals three separate people or entities -- look at this example: I am Daughter, Wife, and Mother -- does that mean I gave birth to myself??? No, it means that I have three different functions, natures, assignments, or duties -- but I am still only One Person.
So, the L-RD G-d IS Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - the same One True G-d - but having three different functions, duties, assignments, and natures.
Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. 1And behold, I AM with you always, until the end of the age."
John 8:58.
Jesus said, “Truly, Truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM."
John 10:30
"I and my Father are one . . ."

He doesn't. The christian God is God the Father. Jesus is his son. They are 2 separate beings. They are one like Jesus and his disciples were one, meaning one in purpose and goals, not the same person. The Holy Ghost is also a separate being.

He doesn't. He prays to the one and only God that sent Him. But try to convince most Christians of this.

As a Christian, God prays back to me.
Jesus prays to His Father & Father prays back to Jesus. So? When we are born of God through faith in Jesus, then we can pray to Father God & Jesus through the Holy Spirit 24/7.
And there is nothing wrong with talking with oneself. King David in the Psalms often wrote... "Oh my soul, why are you downcast? Trust in your LORD...". David talked to himself to build faith that all things will work for the good...

This God prays because men have used him as an excuse for war and violence instead of peace and love.

In short, he doesn't.
There is God the Father.
He sent his Son Jesus Christ to earth.
Jesus prayed to the Father.

Prayer is a two-way conversation with God. Jesus, the God-Man, needed his Father's opinion while he was here on earth.
