The difference is the spirit in man. Animals have a body and soul, but humans are trichodomidic. They have a body soul and spirit. The Body came from the dust of the ground, the spirit came from the breath of God, and then man became a living soul. The spirit that came from the breath of God is eternal and can never dissipate. That is why we are totally different creatures to animals. They were not created as we were.

7. Gives aid to strangers who are less fortunate.

If your arm gets chopped off, are you still you?
If your kidney gets removed, are you still you?

You are a spiritual creature inhabiting a physical body. Your spirit is immortal, and survives death, as is suggested by NDE's and OBE's.

Animals have souls - the animating principle that gives it life - but we have no evidence that they have immortal spirits as well. And if they did, those spirits would be influenced by the bodies they inhabited. They would definitely be simpler than us.

That, and the fact that we have developed language, and so can pass information on to future generations.

And So-Crates, chimpanzees and meerkats both commit murder. Does that make THEM human???

We have mastered the fine art of precisely butchering other animals, damaging our environment, killing one another, and developing complex methods of justification and scapegoating in order to continue doing so.

God breathed life into man's nostrils.
We have a soul. There is no place in the bible that says animals have a soul, and must accept salvation.
We are given free will, and either choose to follow the Lord or not.
I'm sure there are many other answers you will receive as well.

Our ability to communicate in multiple forms and our ability to ignore our instincts is what separates us from other animals, as well as our ability to murder each other over those very words we speak.
