Deep question. It really means your own will ceases to exist, it is dead, and all that remains is Christ. There are no cares or concerns because what happens no longer matters in the least, all that is left in life is responding to each life situation in a way that glorifies God.

How are you Sandy? I have been missing your thoughful questions. Nice post this evening.
I am not sure if anyone can give a credible answer to your deep question. Christ indeed was Crucified. His road required strength and courage to confront ridicule, verbal and physical assault, rejection, denial, oppression and lonliness. The mental anquish alone was far more than anyone has ever endured as he carried the heavy weight of the sins of humanity upon his shoulders.
We can imitate Christ sufferings but we can't duplicate them in our lives. We can put it all on a stage and create a visual in the heart of man but that staging can in no way compare to the actual suffering Christ endured for us.
Sandy, the Apostle Paul says I die daily. in other words I must look to Christ for spiritual renewal each new day. The Flesh and the Spirit are constantly raging a fierce battle in each of us for supremacy of our soul. The Apostle paul says that every time I try to do good evil is present.
Sandy, we must look to the risen Christ. We must keep our eyes and mind fixed on him. We must declare his name to those who have not tasted nor discovered the goodness of God in their life. We must at times hold up the light before them and even as you have said ,"pass through the winepress" alone. Today we live in the shadow of the Cross. The first time Jesus came in humilty and much suffering, but the next time he appears , he will come in power and in great glory. He will come as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Hallelujah to the Lamb. Behold the Lamb of God which takes away the sins of the world.
John 3:16
Romans 10:9
Thank you my Sister in Christ.

It's not the easiest task I've attempted; staying crucified is even harder for me, but by His grace He keeps me evermore.
Years ago I wanted to blame the elders the hypocrits and the chauvinist for running me backwards out of the church house doors; although they weren't perfect, it wasn't them really and truly -- deep down it was me - disobedient me! The fleshly, want to have it easy and my own way me.
In the beginning I was greeted by the sweetest soul [a christian sister] at the church and she said "yeah, it's a suffering lifestyle, but it's worth it." As I smiled, my rational mind was saying, yeah right, and you want me to consent to this -- suffering, yeah ok -- lol [where's the door?]
But God is merciful and overlooked my faults and saw my needs and over time has allowed me to understand and accept, "my way" as being equal to a lying, deluded, hell bound soul. Even when I am convinced that I am being a 'good' person.
It is His way of doing things that has truly brought the biggest and best changes in my life. The results are always higher when he has his way. Personally, I would settle for so much less, if the holy spirit didn't show me things:
Without the Holy Spirit, I'd be convinced that wealth, physical beauty, and popularity were my "A" game, you know what I mean? But thank God for mercifully showing me how much more I liked myself, doing things his way. [it's 10 X's better than stroking my own ego] :)
Thanks for asking this.
God bless!

Many Christians define blessings as worldly prosperity. All of the new testament disciples preached against being rich as did our Lord Jesus when He said, "Woe to you who are rich. You have received your reward in full." And James when he said, "Isn't it that rich that drag you into the courts?" And Paul when he said we war against our flesh and it's lusts and when he said he counts all things as rubbish that he might gain Christ. Why would he feel he had to give up all things to gain Christ if gaining worldly wealth is a blessing carried over from the old covenant to the new, as is preached all throughout Christian churches today? This give to God to get 100 fold back mentality was very evident in the Heritage Village Ministry of Jim and Tammy Baker in the 70's. God exposed that gospel as self serving and sinful. I guess they don't read much of the New Testament. Our blessings in the old testament were worldly, in the new testament, they are spiritual. Not to say God doesn't supply all of our needs. I have learned as a seasoned cross carrying Christian not to pray for more than my basic needs. If I need a car, I don't claim a Mercedes in the name of Jesus, I humbly appreciate my 95 Ford Escort. It isn't pretty, but it's dependable. Just as Christ was tempted by Satan to gain worldly wealth, so are we tempted of Satan to gain what our human nature craves. Wealth, power and control, all things we buried with Christ when we took up His cross.

Anyone who is truly humble before God, and strives to fully cooperate with his divine will, is living the life of Christ.
And since Muslims also believe that "Islam" means to "submit" or "surrender" one's will to God, Muslims who practice their true faith might also live a "crucified" life ... whether or not they actually know it.

Many things have happened in my life that could only be explained by the existence of a Creator.
More later, work calls.

"Surrendering all " "in the flesh" emotions and decision making is living a crucified life in Jesus Christ in our daily walk with Him.We all need to live what we preach. That is the greatest wittiness of all.
