I answered a question, (the question was deleted, it was something about calling Priests pedophiles,) not by my doing, and I told the person I was going to become a Priest and he call me a fag

Why? Not all Priests have molested a child and that person does not know me, I love children and I would not hurt them, I am a teacher and children are a gift from God, I felt insulted by this persons accusation

Why do people like to insult someone because of what they believe in?

I agree. Although I am not religious, it still makes me feel bad to see people insulting religion & religious people simply because of differences in beliefs.

The same reason there are wars and people killing so people will believe in their religion. ( I was thinking about how this small group of people are all fighting for their beliefs yet everyone wonders why there are wars.) Listen to your calling and not only are not all priests pedophiles, most priests are not pedophiles. There are good ones and bad ones in all things and someone insults you because they don't understand you. Don't worry about it. God Bless You.

You have my prayers for your formation and future ministry, Ken.

I am related to and friends with several priests, and I keep them in my prayers, on their birthdays, ordination anniversaries, and on Holy Thursday, when all priests renew their vows.

Some people can not imagine the sacrifice of being called to serve God this way, and they got insulting. I will report that person, if I were you Ken. Yahoo has gotten 'cleaner' the past few months.

Be strong; God and our Holy Mother require strong, committed men. I am praying for you.

Jesus said, "At first the world persecuted Me, so too will they persecute you". You're gonna have to get alot stronger than that my dear friend, if you plan on becoming a Priest.

First of all, in order to be a Paster, Priest, or at the head of anything, etc, you can't let what anyone else says or does offend or insult you. It doesn't matter what others think of you anyway, what's important is what God thinks about you.

Think of how many insults Jesus took and He never uttered a word in return, He said to love your enemies, to forgive them and bless them, to do good to them, remember?

Do what Jesus did, take what was meant for evil and turn it around for the good of others.

I am not Catholic, but I'm glad you are wanting to follow your hearts call. I am a minister and a Co-Pastor, but because I am a woman I take on a lot of Criticism. All I know is I do what Matt. 5:44 teaches me. One of these days they may need you to come and pray for them. Then you will have the opportunity to show him the love of God face to face. Not only that, God takes care of his children, Aren't you his child?

Sadly, it appears that there are many immature people on this site. Like a frustrated child, this person was obviously striking out at you (since you are within striking distance), as he/she has not yet developed mental maturity and he/she needs a release for pent-up anger. You will probably encounter many such individuals on your path, for so many are disgusted with the abominable acts of those who have betrayed our trust. While it hurts to be included with the few, do not allow the few to sway you from your beliefs. Remember that your religion asks that you forgive; anger and resentment will only bring you down to this person's level.

Unfortunately there have been enough cases of priests (and other religious leaders) acting in inappropriate ways that this will be a running joke for years to come.

We hold religious leaders to a higher standard than the general populace, so it is big news when one messes up. And it's not just Catholic priests, and it's not just pedophilia.

if you want to join the Priesthood, I applaud your religious convictions. Be sure to conduct yourself in a manner befitting one of God's representatives.

ignorance.... plain and simple. i wish i could remember the chapter and verse wher eit talks about vain babblings.... don't let them get to you. people find living in their ignorance so much easier then opening their eyes and seeing the truth.

remember this part of the song Be Not Afraid...

and if wicked men insult and hate you all because of Me, blessed, bless are you. Be not afraid, I go before you always, come follow Me and I will give you rest.

It was probably some prepubescent kid, who had nothing better to do at that moment in time.
Don't give him/her the satisfaction of getting upset.
Just fix the spelling mistakes, tell them to try again and send it back.
