Otherwise, most all cats seem to do it
without any problems.

I had a cat that was very good at hunting flies. We didn't have to worry about them being in the house, because she only had to chase one for about five minutes before catching it, and of course, she would then eat it.
I don't think there's anything wrong with cats eating flies. As far as I can tell, it's fine. I understand your concern, however, as flies are known for carrying diseases. I would suggest talking to your vet about it. Ask him or her if flies carry diseases that you should be concerned about.
The only thing is, you may not be able to stop your kitty from eating flies. Cats have a strong hunting instinct that's hard to stop, especially if they've already been hunting.
Really, though, I don't think you should worry too much. Think of your cat catching flies as being a bonus for having a cat. Now you don't have to worry about having a lot of flies in the house.

Flies do carry diseases they are harmful to people and i heard that you should kill them if you see one. My cat eats flies and she never got sick or anything. I would check with a vet just to be sure. Also never give you cat canned cat food. Canned cat food has an ingredient used to make plastic and it is vert piosionus to cats. My grandmas friend has two cats they almost died from eating canned cat food. My cat got very sick when she got a free sample of fancy feast canned cat food. she never got sick before. so there are two tips for you. Remember never give you cat any canned cat food. And ask you vet about the flies.

Cats will try to capture anything that buzzes around. I would make the cat spit out a fly. Flies carry disease. (Look what they land on!) And, no sense in encouraging that.
Can you remove the source of the flies? I suggest keeping all trash containers covered, keep your house and yard free of pet excrement. Personally, I keep my cats indoors. They are healthier, safer, and live longer.

Some cats will eat insects. Not much you can do about it except fallow them around 24/7. Their system usually will combat this. Is it good for them? NO. But that's the way Mother Nature made them! We give our baby's a dose of Amoxacillion every week or two. We get from our vet. It helps them stay well. GOOD LUCK.

If a cat catches a fly, it usually eats it. Just for sport. There are no diseases cats can get from flies. Cats also eat fleas when they are digging and scratching themselves. They can get tape worms from ingesting fleas so make sure your cat is flea free.

My cat used to LOVE eating flies! She would get so excited chasing after them and it would be so hilarious when she caught them in her mouth. While she chewed them you could hear the fly buzzing around...lol. I never gave it a second thought! My cat lived to be a nice old age, as well. No problems!

Mine hunts down and eats any flying insect which gets into the house, which includes flies.
Mine gets regular vet visits every year and has never, ever contracted anything from flies.
Don't worry about it.

Good question.
If your cat has had all its shots and is already healthy, it should be fine.
A fly is very small, thus is can only carry a very small amount of bacteria.
Such a small amount of bacteria will quickly be overtaken by your cat's healthy immune system.
