If you live below the poverty line, the county clinic can help. Otherwise, see your family physician. If that is not an option, any pharmacist can recommend a treatment you can do at home. In this case, you will need a lice comb and you will have to comb them out yourself.
In a way, this is the best option because you know the job will be done to your satisfaction.

you dont need to take your kid anywhere. ive had a ridiculous lice problem in the past and putting your childs hair in olive oil for forty minutes drowns the lice. Its the cheapest most painfree easy way to remove lice

As I recall, it was vaseline in the hair and a shower cap.
A buzz cut, would help, as well. That is a bit extreme, however.
