The Christian life is a life of FAITH, not ceremonial religion or organized formalism. We read in Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Many people refuse to live by faith; instead, they prefer to see, hear, touch, smell, and taste religion. Catholicism eliminates faith. When a Christian prays, they do not need to pray through a statue of Mary. Rather, the Christian prays to God from within the heart. Jesus said, "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:21). The kingdom of God is within your heart only if you have been born-again through the blood-atoning work of Jesus Christ. No religion can save you, not even the Baptists. ONLY Jesus can save you (John 14:6). The Catholic religion offers all the external manifestations of religion, but their hearts are FAR FROM GOD because for doctrines they teach the commandments and traditions of men. The "PerpetuaL virginity of Mary" is NOT taught in the Bible. The "Seven Sacraments" are NOT taught in the Bible. The "rosary" is not taught in the Bible. The little wafer on a pole that the Catholic masses worship is not Jesus, and this evil religious practice is certainly not taught in the Bible. Think for yourself!
Don't forget friend, the road to destruction is often paved with good intentions...
"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." -Proverb 14:12

"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)
Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.
Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):
By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.
http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/pontifical_councils/chrstuni/documents/rc_pc_chrstuni_doc_31101999_cath-luth-joint-declaration_en.html
There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.
A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

With love in Christ.

Catholics are the original Christian church.
"Christians" (not Cristians) is generally accepted to mean the same thing (by most people) as Protestants. Protestants broke from the Catholic church for a number of doctrinal reasons.
Is being a Catholic the same thing as being a Christian.
It depends on who you ask.
As a Christian, I believe that you have to enter into the covenant of the New Testament in order to BE Christian.
Many Catholics believe that membership (and sometimes attendance) in the Catholic church qualifies as being Christian.

Being Catholic IS being Christian. you will be asking what the version is between Catholic Christians and different styles of Christianity, alongside with Protestantism. fairly, as Catholics, we've self belief that Jesus Christ generic a church right here in the international and positioned the apostle Peter in can charge of His church, making Peter the 1st pope. this might make our contemporary pope, Benedict XVI, an instantaneous successor of Peter. around 1500 (style of), Martin Luther lead a flow which ultimately created an remarkable branch in the church, inflicting an remarkable style of "protestors" to pass away and stick to their very own set of policies. This grew to become into talked approximately as the Reformation, and grew to become into how Protestantism began. Protestant Christians (Methodist, Lutherans, Baptists, and so on, and so on) do no longer adhere to the authority of the Pope. a number of the biggest variations are: a million. maximum Protestants have self belief interior the authority of the Bible on my own, yet Catholics have self belief that we would desire to have the Bible alongside with custom and the coaching authority of Christ's church so as that we are able to fairly understand what the Bible is telling us (for this reason why there are a good number of diverse Christian denominations outdoors of Catholicism, because of the fact no one can seem to agree) 2. Communion: As Catholics, we've self belief that the bread and wine throughout mass fairly boost into the physique and Blood of Jesus Christ. Protestants, for the main section, have self belief it particularly is merely symbolic. this may be a great distinction and between the excuses why you will be able to desire to be Catholic with the intention to receive communion at a Catholic mass. 3. Books interior the Bible: The Protestant Bible includes much less books than the Catholic Bible. Protestants bumped off the books that they did no longer accept as true with in the time of the Reformation. at present, Catholics are in many situations accused of including books to the Bible, yet it particularly is thoroughly fake. regardless of each little thing, it grew to become into the Catholic Church who initially desperate which books may be interior the Bible, one thousand years before Protestantism even existed. :) it particularly is an quite short precis. i desire this helps!

Catholics ARE Christians- but not all Christians are Catholic.
Catholics are the original Christians. All other forms of Christianity separated themselves from the True Church of Christ.

Christian encompasses all who believe Jesus is the Christ, and try to follow his teachings.
Unfortunately there are several interpretations of Jesus' teachings, so Christianity is divided into denominations. Catholicism is the largest (and arguably oldest) Christian denomination.

being a practicing Catholic IS being a Christian. just as there are various streets in a town - it's all one town. Christianiny is "the place" and thevarious denominations (Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, etc) are just the streets in the town.
Catholic do, however, hold to the older teachings of the bible with the sacraments and such.

Christians are true follower of Christ, that's why they are called Christians ( taken from the word Christ' follower and disciples)!
Whereas Catholics (The Roman Catholic), believes the sacrifice of Lord Jesus, but they are not a true follower of Christ, that's why they can't be called Christians!
But if you mean just Catholic, as defined by Webster dicitonary:
CATHOLIC, n. A papist.
So, there is a big different between a Roman Catholic way and doctrines compared to Christians. And the main difference is how to worship God and Lord Jesus, that must be in spirit, in truth and in love, John 4:24! Amen.
As God and Lord Jesus said;
Mat 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
Mat 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoreth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
The main RC's doctrines is more on Mary, believing Mary has the power to intercede for them as a mother and truly blinded and not knowing the Holy Words of God;
Luk 1:45 And blessed is she that believed for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Luk 1:46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
Luk 1:47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.
Luk 1:48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
That, Mary is the first one actually to understands that she needs a savior! verse 47. Amen.
Also, if we examined their doctrines is not really biblically inclined and sound doctrines for most of their doctrines are truly man-made and traditions of men!
Like:
1. purgatoy, where can you find in the Holy Words of God such?
2. Baptizing innocent childrens? How can an innocent children knows about salvation? For only those who accepts the gift of salvation from God can participate in a sacred ordinance called baptism, by plunging or immersing the whole body not spinkling or just signing a cross on the forehead of the baby with water.
3. Reciting the Rosary, why? how can it help someone to be saved in such doctrine. is this biblically proven?
4. Many more rituals and supertitious belief that are added in their worship.
So, in the final analysis, it seems they do not truly believe in God's Holy Words by adding to the Bible and guilty of these;
Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32
Proverbs 3:6
Isaiah 30:1
That these set of Scriptures is very clear that RC is guilty of unbelief in God's Holy Words, so to me RC worship is as a Modern Pagans Style, not knowing the the One and Only True Living God and Lord Jesus. For if they know, they must do as it is written; 2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Amen.
