Could the story of the flood come from the flooding of the black sea? And a earlier civilization that seems to have been centered around the banks of the large fresh water lake that was there before the Mediterranean over it flooded it? And was so catastrophic to people of the area

It is really amazing what is being discovered now.

You answered your own question when you said catastrophic to people of the area. Noah's flood was a global catastrophic flood that affected every living thing. Not just one area.

No - the earth was flooded and there is geological and archaeological proof. And the ark is on Mt. Ararat.
