False. It would be true for offering advice, but general conversation can be light, without the "need" to talk.

Well, most people with any sense only speak when they need too. I like to think that I don't just go around yacking my head off for no reason.. SO... false. Wise people don't speak when they need too, normal people speak when they need too.

This is very true.

I'm sure you have encountered a person who just talks and talks, and almost wears you out, just listening. These people talk just because they like the sound of their own voice.

If you notice, the things you remember are short and to the point.

A wise person can dilute all the yada-yada into a few succinct
words. The fool is one who rattles on and on.

False.
Those who are wise speak when its appropriate to do so while remembering to be respectful and polite. They choose their words carefully and understand that THEIR opinions and thoughts are no great than the guy sitting next to them. I tell my kids that all the time along with "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all."

It is better to be quiet and considered a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Or so the saying goes. In a conversation amoung friends it is nice to have a free exchange of ideas. In business, it is smart to listen, understand and then contribute if you have something worthwhile to say.
