Can iron pills be taken with dairy food products or does the dairy negate the effect of the iron?

no. calcium blocks the absorption of iron. so it is best to avoid any calcium foods when you take it, and take it with something with citric acid, like oj or strawberries, that increases absorption. I take my mulitvitamins, b12 and iron in the morning, and calcium twice later in the day

dairy products tend to block the absorption of a great many things, including iron. If the iron upsets your stomach take it with crackers and water, not milk. It isn't lethal, it's just throwing away the money you spent for the iron.
