A contact of mine flew home to Tennessee from Phoenix last weekend.
She had to be at the airport by 0730 for a flight at 1000 so that is Homeland Security for you.

Try to travel with carry-on.

Keep fluids in small containers and place in a small bag. This should be easy to take out.

Computer should be easy to take out, as well.

Most airports I can through with 45 minutes. For larger airports, one hour (like LAX). Less time, for smaller airports.

I believe that an airline will not accept a bag with less than 45 minutes to departure.

I've only flown eight times in the past year (out of San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle or Providence) and the longest security delay might have been 15 minutes.

Check in is where you get the tickets to go through security. Having said that it takes just a few minutes because I use the kiosk machines instead of standing in lines.

Going through security usually takes about 15minutes because I tend to travel offpeak times...just like rush hour for travelling by car it's the same hours for travelling by plane.

Ok you dhould get there at least 2 hours early. I suggest 3 but at LEAST 2. If it takes you 45 minutes to get there then make sure you leave about 3 hours before.

Hope I hepled
