Generally let it be, or it will be a never-ending thing (someone sends you a thank you card, then you send one thanking them for the thank you, then they send you one thanking you for thanking them for thanking you, etc). Or just casually mention in passing that you got their card.

Not necessarily.

I wouldn't respond to a thank you card, UNLESS there was a gift with it, or they hand-created the card or went into great efforts of making something unique, then yes, I would.

And then I would say with a call, "thank you for your thoughtful creation. It touched me."

When you talk to the sender tell them you got the card & how nice it was.

NO! You do not have to tell them thanks or something for it. But if they ask you if you got it or something then say yea thanks i liked it or something.
