without evil, good couldn't exist... do you think God lets the forces of evil tempt us to the breaking point?

God does not tempt us but the forces of evil use their free will received at creation by God when they were good and that is what tempt us . It is not a truce for there will never be a truce because at the end good will triumph at the end over evil because we have God's promises that it will be that way.

There is no truce between the forces of good and those of evil. The forces of evil are still subject to God.
Satan cannot tempt anyone without authorization from God. The temptations allow believers to realize that no matter how "good" they can be, we still need Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

The battle is rigged in favour of God. Evil and God do have a truce in that they agree on rules to the game but it could end. The battle between Good and evil is a distraction from the point most evil has been committed in the name of God so God is not good even though God is said to be good there is no real battle between the forces of good and evil because torture, murder, rape, some of the things have occured in the name of God okayed by those who are in the employ of God or at least occured in wars okayed by them. There is no difference between the two forces as evil is good ans good is evil

Without darkness, could light exist?
Without cold, could heat exist?

The answer to these, and your question is yes.

"Evil" isn't the counterpoint, balance to, or antithesis to "good." It is the absence of it. Good, and God, exists independent of the presence of Evil. This is because "good" is of God. All things that lack God, or have in any way departed from him and his plan are "evil."

But to the second part of your question, I do think that God allows us to be tempted to the breaking point. How else would we come to any real understanding of how much we need him? The great news is he is greater than any temptation we could possibly face (because he is greater than any evil.) When we learn to rely completely on him to sustain us we discover the power to overcome all things the enemy may throw at us, for it is his power that we work within. Not our own.

There is NO truce. The battle goes on every moment.

This website is a good example.

For people who turn against God, He does allow them to go their own way and face their own consequences....in hope that they will see what a meaningless life they have without Him.

I think that the terms of their compromise is that neither one of them can exist for the duration of human civilization. It's part of the deal man, no diabolic laughter or selfless acts of charity....thems the rules.

Yes you are correct, in order for one to exist it needs to acknowledge the other, the only way to get rid of one is to get rid of both of them.
