Possibly, but think of all the zillion thoughts that are going through your head at one time. If this is the case, then I think it's all those thoughts getting mixed up and coming out the other end as some wierd, illogical scenario your brain cooks up.

Early on during the night that is likely, but as the night goes on, we go through several cycles of light sleep to deeper sleep, then coming back up to a lighter sleep for the REM cycle. We go through the entire cycle about every 45 minutes or so. As the night progresses, we generally tend to sift through the events of the day earlier on, and then on to deeper issues that we are trying to sort out as the night progresses. The dreams we have toward morning tend to come from deeper levels of the subconscious mind, and tend to be more complex and symbolic... Although we dream several times throughout the night, if we remember our dreams at all, we are most likely to remember the dream we had just before waking. Sometimes people think they don't have dreams, because they don't remember them, or that the ones they remember are the only ones they have, so if they only remember one dream in a night, then they think they must only have one dream in a night. This just isn't so, normal, healthy people have several dreams during the night, but just don't remember them all as a rule. People suffering from sleep disorders, ill health, or some prescription drugs, etc, may find thier dream process interfered with...

Well, you should know! Haven't you had dreams before? Lol...well I don't think it's true because I'll go to sleep thinking about one thing and dream about a totally different thing. For instance, one time I went to bed thinking about this quy I like and then I drempt about my old gym teacher! Haha, weird, I know! : )

Not always sometimes it is a conglomeration of things that your mind meshes together as a dream. Sometimes your mind can blend it to make sense of everything it has recorded and it uses it as a way to sort through important and non-important happenings. It saves the important stuff and chucks everything else away. The dream is a by-product of all that stuff. That is why if you understand your dreams you can understand more what is really important to you that is why when you have and odd dream you should really pay attention to it. That way if you have and issue that needs to be resolved. You can resolve it easier if you know you dreams.

NO. what you dream is what you feel in your life is a problem that you need to overcome. when you dream you dream in symbols that your sub-conscious creates to help you solve problems that you for whatever reason you cannot handle in the awake state. now if what is on your mind when you go to sleep is a problem that you are trying to solve then yes you might possibly dream about it but it will be in symbols.

No, not always. I dream about events of the day, or about things that I'm trying to work out.

hmmm, that can be true sometimes.... but not ALL the time. you attention span is short when you are falling asleep and, besides the point, you are entering stage 1 of sleep, a stage where anything can wake you.... so..you be the judge of that.. it's happened to me, but not always!
