The disbursement date is the date that student loan money is sent to your school. It can be the same day if they send it electronically, or it can be a few days later if they mail the check. Then the school will send the money on to you, minus tuition and fees. The school will either send you a check or directly deposit the funds into your account if you have direct deposit set up. If you really need the money, see if your school will do a direct deposit and get that set up with them. That can save you a few days of waiting.

Curious if you know what interest rate you are paying and what fees you incurred? Do you know? There are better alternative loans on the market with better rates and ZERO fees. Citibank and Wachovia to name a few.
