I am 9 weeks pregnant. How soon should I start buying baby stuff? I have a 12 yr old son so I have to completely start from scratch. Is it too early to start buying the major baby things like I am going to needs such as bottles, binkies, & diapers and unisex onies and such? When is the prefect time to have a baby shower ? Just curious ... been awhile since I have done this :)

I stared as soon as i found out! It's too exciting not too. Also, think yoou wont have to spend all that $ in one whack.. it wont hurt as bad!

i would wait. 1. you don't want to over buy... if you buy all the small stuff now what is everybody going to get you for your shower? then you'd just have to return stuff after the baby was born and it would be a time consuming chore.
2. have the baby shower whenever you want. most people do it around 7-8 months that way there isn't a lot of baby stuff sitting around for months and also the clothes will be in season.

Even though you have had at least one healthy pregnancy, it is still a good idea to wait until after the first trimester is over to start buying baby items.

honestly wait till you are atleast 7 months.. i know that in some cultures people get stuff early,, for example my husband is Italian and his family usually buys everything early.. unfortunately my husband and I have a bad history of miscarriage so with our six year old we waited (and asked the family to wait) till I was past the scary point of my pregnancy.. around 7 months.
