I just read a question from another user, and it got me thinking. What do you think?

Personally, whilst I don't think that it qualifies as infidelity in the physical sense, I think that it causes the same mistrust and hurt as physical cheating. Although saying that, if the cybersex is with the same person and there is some kind of online relationship or connection, I would qualify that as cheating.

Just to clarify - I have NOT and would NOT ever do this whilst in a relationship!!

I think it is. Your still having those feelings about another person. I would count it as cheating. Maybe not physically but mentally definitely. It stills destroys trust that you have in the relationship and without trust a relationship is nothing.

I agree with you in that cybersex while in a relationship may cause a loss of trust, respect, and hurt feelings. However I think that it's all in being caught. LOL!

Seriously though in a way it is like that question about the tree falling when there's nobody there to hear it. If you never found the fallen tree how would you even know it fell?

Further more I have met a couple of people who swear that they will use cybersex as a jump start for their sex life with their significant other. Hard to believe I know, I thought the same... but let's assume it's true... in that case it wouldn't be such a horrible thing, would it?

Your not being intimate nore physical, but you are creating fantasies in your own mind so the question could be are you not getting your needs fulfilled by your current partner.
I dont think it really can be classed as cheating bt I guess it depends upon the individual person.
I mean would ou mind your partner reading what you write to a stranger, if you do then maybe it is cheating?

Hope this is of use.

Its not cheating but the question is what comes after cyber? And dont give me this crap that you wouldn't do it physically cause the cybering is a perfect way to get to the point of cheating on your mate with someone you meet online.

If you are in an exclusive relationship, and have any sex... including cybersex with another person... then YES you just cheated.

You're engaging in a sexual manner with someone other than your partner. Cheating for people who are too cowardly to cheat properly, but cheating all the same.

i think cybersex in a way is cheating beacsue you're fulfilling somewhat a sexual fantasy with someone else other than your partner and i feel its really cheating if your partner doesn't know about it!!

Try this - would you do it with your partner in the room?

Probably not!

Good chance THEY will think it's cheating... and THAT is your point of reference.

Is reading an encyclopedia online any different than reading an encyclopedia on your desk?

Sure it is different, but the result is the same.
