We live in iowa and I found out about this from someone else. When I asked him about it he told me it was a lie, so I did some investigating. He is driving my kids around all the time, I have reason to care. Sure enough he did get an OWI last month but he still has his license, how can this be possible??

Most states give you 30 days before they take your license. Other states wait until you are convicted. If they took a blood test, it could take weeks just to get the results, so it may be a while before he has court.

Of course, there is always the possibility he is just driving without a license.

In IL. the suspension does not take place until the 46th day. And usually they have already been to court by then, and they of course have the right to fight the suspension.

Getting stopped and getting convicted are two different things. I'm going to guess he has not been to court yet.
