Fundamentalist Christians, would you support the calling for an assasination of a cartoonist who depicted Jesus Christ in such a manner?

Your thoughts?

I'm neither Muslim nor a Fundamentalist, but I believe that the moment one murders in the name of religious beliefs, that person and his/her personal beliefs become morally bankrupt.

لا. No I wouldn't. Murder is murder in Islam and is a sin. The guy should apologize though. That cartoon wasn't funny or amusing at all. Muslims don't go around making stupid pictures of Prophet Isa(PBUH*) so the people who made the cartoon about Muhammad(PBUH*) shouldn't do that either.

the glare grow to be neither the main suitable or incorrect factor to do. you could've defined to him how what he reported grow to be incorrect on many tiers. whether he isnt a severe high quality guy, you handle somebody with know and that they are going to handle you with know. the prophet (pbuh) grow to be type to everyone. even people who have been rude to him and islam. so we ought to continually take him as an occasion and be severe high quality to those who insult islam considering you in no way know, if youre severe high quality to them they might substitute their perspectives ont islam

Well, i dont at all support the assasination. Not that i condone those cartoons but knowing Prophet Muhammed, he would have forgiven them. I hope other so called Muslims get this message too!

All this "the prophet would have forgiven him" stuff is kind of amusing. There are actually very similiar situations that happened when Muhammed was still alive, a poet wrote an unflattering verse about him and he had the person killed.

No I don't. The Quran tells Muslims to strive in the cause of God and to be patient. Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) used to have this Women that was his neighbour, whenever he left his Home she would come near him and throw Garbage at him. He never said anything to her. One day Prophet Muhammed noticed that she wasn't around and the next day also. You know what he did ? He went to her home to check if she was okay and when she opened the door and he found that she was ill he greeted her and prayed that she would get better : )

-------

According to Syed Maududi's commentary (Ibn Zaid):

One day Abu Lahab asked the Muhammad: "If I were to accept your religion, what would I get?" Muhammad replied: "You would get what the other believers would get." Abu Lahab asked: "Is there no preference or distinction for me?" Muhammad replied: "What else do you want?" Thereupon he said: "May this religion perish in which I and all other people should be equal and alike!" (Ibn Jarir).

In Mecca, Abu Lahab and Muhammad were next door neighbors and their houses were separated by a wall. Muhammad's other neighbors included: Hakam bin As (Father of Marwan), Uqbah bin Abi Muait, Adi bin Hamra and Ibn al-Asda il-Hudhali. These neighbors, according to tradition, gave Muhammad no peace. On one occasion, when he was praying, these neighbors threw a goat's stomach on him. When food was being cooked in Muhammad's courtyard, they would throw garbage into the cooking pot. Muhammad would come outside and ask:

"O Bani Abdi Manaf, what kind of neighborliness is it?" To makes matters worse, Abu Lahab's wife, Umm Jamil (Abu Sufyan's sister), had made it a practice to cast thorns at his door in the night so that when he or his children came out of the house at dawn, they should run thorns in the foot. (Baihaqi, Ibn Abi Hatim, Ibn Jarir, Ibn Asakir, Ibn Hisham).

Abu Lahab's hatred for Muhammad showed when Muhammad's sons Qasim and Abdullah died. Instead of mourning with his nephew, as any decent human being should have, Abu Lahab joked with the Quraish chiefs that Muhammad had become childless that night. (See Sura 108).

Abu Lahab also enjoyed heckling Muhammad. According to Rabiah bin Abbad ad-Dill:

"I was a young boy when I accompanied my father to the face of Dhul-Majaz. There I saw the Holy Messenger (may peace be upon him) who was exhorting the people, saying: 'O people, say: there is no deity but Allah, you will attain success.' Following behind him I saw a man, who was telling the people; `This fellow is a liar: he has gone astray from his ancestral faith.' I asked; who is he? The people replied: He is his uncle, Abu Lahab." (Musnad Ahmad, Baihaqi). After Muhammad began preaching his message, and gained a significant following, Abu Lahab told his sons: "I would forbid myself seeing and meeting you until you divorced the daughters of Muhammad."

Though "P*ss Christ" wasn't all that flattering, I didn't think the creator should have been assassinated. I was pretty sure my tax dollars could have been put to better use though.

Thou shalt not kill (murder thoughtlessly).... Vengence is mine, saith the Lord....

The evildoers or those who blaspheme will have their due reward (punishment) in the end. God will take care of it, whether now or later. (I'm replying to your question for christians and the cartoon about Jesus [if there had been one])
Murder is wrong. that's all!

Murder is the calling card of Islamic politicians. Kind of like kissing babies for an American politician.
