A university student with a history of taping his own practical jokes was hit with a Taser gun by campus police and arrested after loudly and repeatedly trying to ask U.S. Sen. John Kerry questions during a campus forum.

Andrew Meyer, 21, spent a night in jail before his release Tuesday morning. His attorney, Robert Griscti, did not return messages seeking comment.

A staged event specifically for the media cameras present.

The student (Meyer) is well known for hoaxes. The hoax at the University of Florida which was intended to humiliate the police, the university and Senator Kerry was carried out and planned by a number of students. Many of whom started posting on Yahoo Answers almost immediately. It was a publicity stunt intended to get Meyer on the news since it is the only way he will ever be involved in journalism.

He's a student?? What a waste of tuition money.
I am not a John Kerry fan, but messing up an opportunity for people to hear what he has to say is totally unacceptable behavior.

If you asked me he got what he deserved. Where I'm from when the police ask you to come with them, you go with them. All the details can be worked out later. But if you don't want to be tazered, don't resist arrest. Simple. They are in charge you do what they say. He's lucky he didn't get any worse treatment than that.

From the footage I saw, he didn't do anything that warranted arrest until he started resisting. In an open forum, you have to let people speak, especially if you're going to hand them the mic.

The thing is, if he had gone peacefully, he could have sued the state for a whole bunch of money.

I did find it weird that you could hear him well over John Kerry.

Well the guys was just getting his shock treatment like he should.

After his rants and swinging at cops.
He should be glad he didn't do that in another country like Italy the cops would have shot him on the spot.

In my book I think the cops did a great job.

This guy is a true patriot and a great American. He should receive a medal for what he has done.

Hopefully, we'll soon restore freedom to America and kick the fascists out.
