'If I bleach it with 100% color will it turn orange'?

What exactly does this mean.

If you put bleach on dark brown hair, the results will be orange. No doubt about it!

To get dark hair blonde, you have to do a double process color. That means applying bleach twice to the hair in the same place to get the results you want.

This is extremely harsh on the hair!!! and not recommended.

Better idea? If you don't want orange in your hair, use an ash color in a light brown color. You'll get some nice highlights that won't look out of place and won't have any 'red' color in it.

You can also vary the strength of the peroxide. Use a 30 or 40 volume peroxide for maximum lift. (if you buy the box kind, they come with 20 volume only I believe.)

Hope this helps!
Carolyn

If you're trying to bleach your dark brown hair and the result is orange, you're not lifting all the color. Dark hair goes through several color stages before all color is stripped out - red, orange, yellow, and then finally white. You can then add the blond tones you like for a more natural look. Warning: This process is VERY harsh on your hair and you should let a professional do it.

Time for some honesty here. You need to give your poor hair a break and actually splurge a bit to get a salon dye job. I had a friend like you in HS who use to constantly dye her hair, and she ended up with sort of the same thing you're talking about. Rings of color, uneveness, and a brassy orange like hue taking up whatever was left. You're killing your hair. And yes, I know it's not alive...I'm speaking metaphorically...for those nitpickers out there. Find a good stylist with a reputation for dying. If she's really good, she won't just tell you what you want to hear but actually let you know what would be healthier for your hair. And it might be to go back dark so you can give it a break, cut off the "dead" and frazzled parts, and grow out before you try going blonde again.

you can get a nice blonde color if you bleach depending whether you are hilighting or going lighter all over make sure its a safe on the scalp bleach. Its always best to go to a professional.Regular color from the store will not lighten dark hair up enough. No sun In won't work either you will really be orange then!

Bleach is NOT color and color is NOT bleach . Bleach removes the color pigment in your hair . If you don't know what your doing you will get , orange brassy red , or your hair will be burned to mush . Get a pro do to it for you . Bleaching your hair out it a difficult process .

If you bleach all of your hair it will turn orange. but no worries if you want to dye it like a pink red blue dark green or purple. those colors do cover up the orange. But if you want a light color go to a professional.
