Dawn dishwashing liquid and a flea comb is the safest route. Careful not to get any soap in the eyes.
Suds her up, and let the soap sit on her for several minutes. I don't believe this kills the fleas, but it does stun them and they won't move. Use a flea comb, and dip the comb into a bucket of water when you get a flea on it.
When she is old enough, put her on Frontline or another flea preventative from your Vet.

Giving the puppy a bath is a great start. From reading other answers, I guess Dawn Detergent is good. But, you should know that fleas cannot swim and they drown in water. So a good bath (I think I would use a puppy shampoo) that is deep enough to get puppy's belly wet and then scooping water over the dog will kill the fleas. When that is done, you need to get rid of the fleas that are in the dog's sleeping area or in the play area. All should be done on the same day. And when old enough, get the dog to the vet and get the proper flea treatment.
Also, I agree the dog should have stayed with the mother dog for at least 2 more weeks.

IMO Take her to a vet! Fleas at this young an age can seriously drain a puppy and she could get sick or die. Since you've had her in your home you will need to spray very well inside or even if you treat the pup she will get re-infested. It might be ok to use flea shampoo for puppies - call a vet and ask please! It might also be ok to spray your home and then wait until the pup is old enough for treatment, I know Ecolab has a really great flea spray that's non toxic to dogs and cats but works amazingly well, I don't know if it's available to the general public though - Good luck!

You need to call your vet and they can give you something for the puppy. Also, the puppy shouldn't have left her mother until at least 8 weeks of age. You need to report the people or store you got her from to animal control or the ASPCA.
You need to call or take her to the vet though because if the fleas are not treated it can cause severe skin allergies and cause the puppy pain.

we had a problem with fleas being on our dogs puppies because they stayed outside. the mom used advantage so she didnt have fleas but the puppies did. We used a tearless shampoo that we got from the banfield at petsmart. i think it was like 7 or 8 $ for a bottle. We gave them a bath like once every 2 weeks or so and the fleas werent a problem nemore.

Talk to your vet, there is a product out there called Frontline Plus, but it can't be administered until 8 weeks of age. I'm sure they'll get you some meds. Also, be sure you do a good cleaning of your house. There is a product you can pick up at your vet that will flea bomb your house. If you vacuum, be sure you empty you vacuum cleaner bag, before putting it away.

No.. do NOT wait to treat her! Wash her with Dawn dish detergent and while she is full of soap, comb her with a flea comb. Please be sure not to get the soap in her eyes. Follow with washing with a gentle puppy shampoo.

Take her to the vet now. Puppies that bit by flees can die. Also if you can not take her to the vet right away see it you can get her washed very well by the groomer and then take her to the vet. Do not wait any longer.
